In 2010, a new park opened by the riverbed, which borders the old town.

In Villajoyosa there is a daily fresh food market. Here you can buy fresh fish, meat, cheese, vegetables, fruits and pastries. In the market bar there is a nice atmosphere. Here you can prepare, for free, the food you have bought in the market - as long as you`re paying for drinks.
VALOR
In the 18th and 19th centuries, Villajoyosa was most famous in Europe for its chocolate factories. Cocoa was imported from Venezuela and Ecuador. A visit to the chocolate factory Valor is absolutely recommended. At the factory there is a large shop/café.
GOLF
Costa Blanca is loved by golfers from all over the world and is visited annually by thousands of Scandinavians. The mild climate, the good infrastructure and the large selection of fantastic golf courses are among the attractions that draw crowds of golf enthusiasts to the "white coast" - all year round. HIKING IN THE AREA
Are you among those who want to experience more than spending time on the beach? You will find wonderful hiking trails in the surrounding mountains. To the bottom of the nearest mountain, with the height of about 1400 metres, it only takes approx. 20 min. by car from Villajoyosa. The mountains offer varied terrain and trails with varying degrees of difficulty, so here most will find a hiking trail that fits both health and motivation. You are guaranteed some unique and memorable experiences - as an alternative to beach life.
MOUNTAIN VILLAGES
In the area around Villajoyosa there are many cozy, steep and original mountain villages. Rent a car and visit the mountain village of Guadalest - it is really recommended! Here you will also find the amazing waterfalls of Algar. This is a river that invites you to swim among small waterfalls, for the joy of both children and adults!
BICYCLE
There are nice biking trails in the mountains. Centrally located in Villajoyosa there are several bicycle rentals.
TRAINING BASE, CYCLING TEAM
Costa Blanca and the Alicante region is also a popular area as a training base for professional cycling teams in winter. The Costa Blanca has a sunny and warm climate throughout the year and has beautiful mountains and a long coastline that is well suited for cycling.
Many cycling teams arrange training camps and seasonal preparations in this area, due to climate and geography. With five apartments available in the same building in Villajoyosa, we can accommodate groups who will train and prepare in a varied and challenging terrain - with comfortable temperatures throughout the year. BOATING
The fishing boats return to the harbor every afternoon. Approximately 50 fishing boats use this harbor as their base. Today's catch is sold at an auction for the local fish markets and restaurants.
YACHT CLUB
At the marina you can enjoy the sight of many beautiful boats. Here you will find a yacht club with café and restaurant, too.

The tourist office of Villajoyosa is located in the pedestrian street Calle Colon. Here you will get all the information you need about sights and tourist attractions in the area.
FOOTBALL
Villajoyosa has a team in the 2nd division. A football match in Villajoyosa is a great experience for those who enjoy football.
CITY MUSEUM
At the city museum you can see finds from the excavations in the village, dating back to the Bronze Age and the Roman and Moorish culture. The city walls date from the 17th century and are examples of military architecture from the early Renaissance. The name Villajoyosa appeared around year 1300 and means "city of joy" or "city of jewelry".
Each year Villajoyosa celebrates its liberation from the Arab occupation of the area in 1536. The fiesta is celebrated from 24.7 to 31.7. The town's residents participate and have parades in the streets. This fiesta in itself is worth a visit to Villajoyosa.
SHOPPING
The large shopping center, La Marina, in Finstrat (10 minutes by taxi) is situated a little north of Benidorm. Here you`ll find well-known shops such as Zara and Zara Home, Bershka, HM, Mango, Douglas etc. In Benidorm the opportunities for shopping are fantastic!
